It is very open and has plenty of room for socializing. The pool table was very nice to have and the washer and dryer was a big help. I loved watching the folks on the zip line....since we were there in March, the trees were still pretty bare and we could see all the way downtown. We were visited by a small black bear one night...and the next night he had come again but we didn't see him. He had moved the top on the hot tub a little so he could drink. Also the squirrels were fun to watch while they played around on the deck. We had a great time and plan on staying here again in the future. Very conveniently located 3 miles from Pigeon Forge, with a great back street that would get you around the main drag traffic if you so desired, and yes ladies, will easily "dump" you out at the outlet malls without any problem!!! We have been to Pigeon Forge and the Gatlinburg area many times, but I can say without hesitation this was the most memorable and enjoyable, due to our cozy accommodations. The staff at the office was so pleasant and made the check-in process so easy. Will definitely return for Memorial Day and will want to stay in the same cabin!!! There was even a Kroger very close by for quick grocery trips. This was our first cabin rental and we will consider Diamond in the Rough for our next trip to the Smoky Mountains. I recommend them to friends, but not my mother-in-law (because the staff at Colonial is way too nice to have to tolerate that woman). Holiday Chalet (and Colonial Properties Cabin & Resort Rentals) was the most pleasing to us. My wife loves the wonderful sofa and the huge TV. We enjoyed the view from the deck, and soaked in the hot tub enjoying that view. We had absolutely no complaints about this rental experience, and have no qualms about recommending Colonial to our friends and relatives. The cabins are always very well represented online. I don't even check other rental companies. I enjoy returning to the familiar and getting top notch customer service. I recently left 2 items in the unit and called. The items were recovered and held for me until my husband was able to pick them up. I was so grateful. Everyone I spoke with was just great. It's just a relaxing, no-hassle way to vacation and I highly recommend any rental, but especially Spa Hideaway, to a couple wanting the absolute perfect weekend getaway. I could live there! We absolutely love this cabin and actually don't ever want to leave once we get there. We love the gourmet kitchen and have enjoyed some incredible meals there that we cook ourselves. We end up saving money because we don't go to restaurants. The fireplaces both upstairs and downstairs are wonderful. The steam spa shower is absolutely phenomenal and this cabin just feels like you are home. I don't feel like I'm somewhere commercial. All of the extra touches are just outstanding. Excellent quality tvs and appliances. The decor is so eclectic, but I don't think I would change a thing. The colors are very warm. I just feel happy there. We rented the "Wandering Bear Lodge". We loved it!!! There was so much room!! and the privacy was perfect. It was clean and decorated very nicely. It was like being at home. I would definitly rent a cabin/lodge again from Colonial Properties. The staff is excellent. Scott, at the check-in desk, makes you feel right at home. I asked him lots of questions and he was very knowlegable, courteous, and very friendly. Nothing compares to this type of experience when you are vacationing away from home. WE LOVED IT!!! and will recommend Colonial Properties to everyone we know when they are planning their visit to the Smokies.
