We were in town for a convention and were going to get hotel rooms. However, opted to get a cabin and split the cost. This worked out wonderful. The rental was exactly like the photos. I loved the decor. Everyone raved on the wonderful mattresses. It felt like I was at home in my own bed. The other couples liked the mattresses so much, they pulled the sheets down to find out what brand they were so they could purchase one themselves. The convenience of being right there by the strip was great. We will book again at the same location. Thanks for a pleasantly wonderful trip. We generally stay the week of Thanksgiving, but couldn't believe this rate just by coming the week before. The cleanliness of the unit was great. We enjoy the hot tub at night, sitting on the porch in the early morning. I only wish the fireplace had been wood-burning; I'm told that's hard to find these days; everyone is going to gas logs! We enjoy looking at the National Park and Cades Cove, and the holiday lights in the evenings. We also come to cook for each other and really don't dine out. Its a chance for our family to share recipes and conversation. This was our first time booking with Colonial and really enjoyed the experience! We used to live in Knoxville, TN and now in Chattanooga and we visit the mountains several times during the year. We took our vacation last year and went to Dollywood and stayed at Red Fox Inn. It was beautiful but we didn't need that large of a place this time and I wanted to stay near Ober Gatlinburg this time. We brought our 2 adult children and their spouses and this cabin was perfect. There were three levels, each having their own bedroom and bathroom, giving us plenty of space to have some privacy but yet have a wonderful vacation together. Very conveniently located 3 miles from Pigeon Forge, with a great back street that would get you around the main drag traffic if you so desired, and yes ladies, will easily "dump" you out at the outlet malls without any problem!!! We have been to Pigeon Forge and the Gatlinburg area many times, but I can say without hesitation this was the most memorable and enjoyable, due to our cozy accommodations. The staff at the office was so pleasant and made the check-in process so easy. Will definitely return for Memorial Day and will want to stay in the same cabin!!! We had the best time in Cabin T. It was beautiful and the kids had plenty of space. It was so nice after a long day of sight-seeing to be able to come back to the cabin and relax and not worry about listening to other people all night.
