Paula Deen is known for more than just her cooking. She’s got a whole theme park named after her and if you’re booking a stay in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, you’d be a fool not to check it out. They don’t call it Paula Deen’s Lumberjack Adventure Park for nothing, this is your chance to test your gumption and see if you can hack it as a lumberjack.
There’s endless fun for the whole family here, but we’ve whittled the list down to just four of the most thrilling options Paula Deen’s park has to offer.
1. The Flying Ox
Have you ever seen an ox fly? When you test your bravery on this ride, you’ll get to feel firsthand what it’s like to soar through the air! The Flying Ox is a roller coaster, except that instead of sitting in a standard cart, you’re actually ziplining all around.
2. The High Woodsmen Challenge
This is a ropes course, and of course, it’s themed to the tune of lumberjacks, lumberjacks, and more lumberjacks. Dash, climb and clamber your way on and around a myriad of different obstacles. But don’t worry about slipping up. Unlike the lumberjacks of the past, you’ll be protected at all times by either a safety net or a harness!
This attraction has adventures for children as young as five.
3. Logger sports
Think water sports but with a lot more logs. If you’ve ever wondered how hard it is to run on a spinning log, this is your chance to give it a whirl! The boom run and the speed roll are also favorites here. These logger sports can get pretty competitive, so remember to bring your A-game!
4. Timber Towers
The Timber Towers are for true adventurers only. Here you’ll find four different controlled jumps guaranteed to make your stomach swoop. You’ll be free-falling from 80 feet! You can almost imagine how a massive tree feels when it’s felled by a mighty logger.
And whenever you’re done trying your hand at the ways of the lumberjack, be sure to sit down and catch one of the park’s award-worthy Lumberjack Competition Shows. From the springboard chop to the axe throw, it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind experience!
As they say, channel your inner flannel!
