A Fun and Entertaining Visit to Dolly Parton's Stampede

Published Feb 5, 2021

At Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the whole family can whoop, holler and join in the fun as you’re immersed in the Wild West. Get ready for great chow, a thrilling show, and plenty of laughs! Here’s what to expect.

Visit the Horse Walk

The real stars of the Stampede are 32 magnificent horses. These highly trained, four-legged cast members will dazzle you with their tricks and natural eagerness to perform. Arrive at the Stampede early to visit the horses along the Horse Walk before the show. You’ll want to snap picture after picture with these gentle yet powerful animals. Especially if you have kids, or are a horse-lover of any age, the Horse Walk is a must.

Let the Show Transport You

Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, you’ll enter a 35,000-square-foot arena in Pigeon Forge—but suddenly find yourself immersed in America’s Great Plains in the Old West. Buffalo and longhorn cattle roam, and settlers head into the unknown. The 2020 Stampede honors the Western spirit with dancing, singing, and displays of expert horsemanship. The show wraps up with a rousing, moving musical salute to America that will bring you to your feet.

There’s comedy too, thanks to audience favorite Skeeter, the hilarious barn hand who lives to interrupt the show and keep you giggling. Don’t miss the racing pigs—you can squeal for your favorite!

Feast on a Four-Course Meal

Down home flavors greet your taste buds in this country cooking extravaganza. Chow down on rotisserie chicken, hickory-smoked barbecue pork loin, hot buttered corn on the cob, a baked potato slathered with mouthwatering herbs, a plump homemade biscuit, and Dolly’s signature vegetable soup, all washed down with unlimited tea, Coke or coffee. A specialty dessert is the tasty finish to your meal. At the Stampede, you’ll dig in with your hands, so be ready to tell the kids it’s OK for once to lick their fingers!

Dolly doesn’t forget other diners. Want a vegetarian meal? Get all the yummy dishes above but swap the meats for scrumptious Asian rice with vegetables. Got someone who needs a gluten-free or vegan option? The Stampede kitchen can handle those too.

Take Home Memories

Smile! Photographers will shoot souvenir photos you can purchase at the end of your Stampede experience if you like. There’s also a gift shop where you can buy creamy vegetable soup mix or chicken rub spices to recreate the authentic Stampede feast at home.

When you leave, smiling and full of food, head back to your private Smoky Mountain rental cabin and reminisce about your time in the Wild West.
