10 Grown-Up Activities to Do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are two of Tennessee's most popular tourist destinations. And for a good reason! These two towns are packed with things to do, see, and eat. But what about grown-ups? Is there anything for us to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg? Absolutely! Here are ten activities perfect for adults visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

1. Visit Dollywood

Dollywood is a world-renowned theme park that offers something for everyone. From roller coasters and rides to shows and concerts, there is something for everyone at Dollywood. And remember the food! Dollywood is home to some of the best Southern cooking around, and trust us, and the fried chicken is worth the visit alone.

2. Take a scenic drive down the Parkway

The Parkway is a beautiful stretch of road that runs through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It's the perfect place to take a leisurely drive and take in the sights and sounds of the Smoky Mountains. Stop at one of the many overlooks to snap a few pictures.

3. Visit Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg is an indoor/outdoor ski resort that offers year-round fun for grown-ups. In the winter, hit the slopes for some downhill skiing or snowboarding. And in the summer, take advantage of the hiking trails, alpine slide, water rafting, and more. There is also an ice skating rink that is open year-round!

4. Play a round of golf

Golfers will be happy to know that there are several excellent courses in both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Whether a beginner or a seasoned pro, you'll find a course perfect for your skill level (and budget). If you're more into mini golf, check out Hillbilly Golf. You'll find the world's most unique miniature golf course three hundred feet above Gatlinburg.

5. Go Shopping at The Island in Pigeon Forge

The Island in Pigeon Forge is home to dozens of shops, restaurants, and attractions. Stroll down Island Drive and pop into your favorite stores. Be sure to grab a bite to eat while you're there! The Island has everything from fine dining to fast food options.

6. Enjoy some local brews at Smoky Mountain Brewery

Smoky Mountain Brewery is one of the most popular places in town for locals and visitors alike. With two locations in Pigeon Forge (one on The Island and one on Teaster Lane), it's easy to stop by for a pint (or two). They also serve up some delicious pub grub if you're looking for a bite.

7. Enjoy a Wine Tasting in Gatlinburg

Wine tastings are a great way to learn about different types of wines and how they are made. Tastings can be a great way to find new wines that you enjoy and also a great way to meet other wine lovers. Gatlinburg is home to several wineries, and many of them offer regular tastings. So if you're looking for a fun activity for adults, check out one of the Gatlinburg wineries. You might find your new favorite wine!

8. See a show at Dolly Parton's Stampede

Dolly Parton's Stampede is an interactive dinner show with 32 magnificent horses and a cast of top-notch performers. You can practically smell the food as soon as you walk into this downhome restaurant. Hickory-smoked barbecue pork loin, hot buttered corn on the cob, and a baked potato slathered with savory herbs are just some of what awaits those who order from Dolly's Kitchen menu! You won't want any part of your meal left behind after indulging in one or all three courses - so be sure to dig in with both hands because it's been reported that kids love when parents do something silly like lick their fingers after eating certain dishes (such at dinner!).

9. Hurl an Axe at Gatlinburg Axe House

If you're looking for something to do in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge that is a little out of the ordinary, consider throwing axes at Gatlinburg Axe House. Yes, you read that correctly - at the Axe House, you can hurl axes at targets in a safe and supervised environment. Don't worry; you don't have to be an expert marksman to participate - the staff will provide everything you need to get started, and they're always on hand to offer helpful tips and guidance. Whether you're looking for a fun way to blow off steam or just curious to try something new, the Axe House is worth a visit.

10. Go ziplining with Adventure Park Ziplines

Adventure Park Ziplines offers some of the most exciting zipline tours in town. Choose from several different tour options ranging from 2 hours to all day long. You'll get breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains as you zip through the treetops!

There's no need to worry if you're visiting Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg without any kids in tow - plenty of activities are perfect for grown-ups!
