5 of the Best Hikes in the Great Smoky Mountains With a View

There are few places in the world as beautiful as the Great Smoky Mountains. With towering peaks, pristine forests and stunning views, it's no wonder that this region is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. And what better way to experience all that the Smokies have to offer than by getting out and hitting one of the many trails?

While there are literally hundreds of miles of hiking trails in the park, we've compiled a list of five of our favorites that offer breathtaking views. So whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for an easy nature walk, be sure to check out these incredible trails!

1. Alum Cave Trail

This 5-mile roundtrip hike is one of the most popular in the park, and it's easy to see why. The trail takes you past several scenic landmarks, including Arch Rock, Inspiration Point and the stunning 120-foot tall Alum Cave Bluffs. And the views from the top are simply breathtaking.

2. Chimney Tops Trail

Don't let the name fool you - this 1.5-mile trail is quite a workout! But it's well worth it when you reach the summit and are rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

3. Clingmans Dome Tower Trail

At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome is the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And while the 0.5-mile hike to the top is steep, it's definitely worth it for the incredible 360-degree views.

4. Mount Cammerer Trail

This 11-mile roundtrip hike is a bit longer, but it's perfect for those who really want to immerse themselves in nature. The trail takes you through old-growth forest and past several waterfalls before reaching the majestic Mount Cammerer fire tower. From there, you'll be treated to some of the best views in the park.

5. Rainbow Falls Trail

If you're looking for a shorter hike with a big payoff, look no further than Rainbow Falls Trail. This 2.6-mile roundtrip trail leads to one of the most popular waterfalls in the park, and the views from the top are simply stunning.

Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a leisurely nature walk, be sure to check out these incredible trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With breathtaking views around every turn, you're sure to have an unforgettable experience!
