The vacation season is upon us and we want to help you find the perfect cabin rental for your Smoky Mountain vacation. Many families are already browsing our great selection of cabins in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and are planning their upcoming vacations to the Great Smoky Mountains. 

To assist you with finding the perfect cabin rental, we are sharing with you the best time to book your cabin rental so that you get the best selection, rates and specials for your family vacation. 

Valentine’s Day

December and early January are the best times to reserve your Valentine’s Day vacation in a cabin rental. One bedroom cabins are the quickest to rent during this time. By waiting closer to the holiday, many of our 1 bedroom cabins will already be reserved. While Valentine’s Day is often considered a couples-only holiday, the truth is, this is one of the busiest times of the year to visit the area. Many of our large cabins are reserved for the holiday, meaning that families and groups are visiting the area for Valentine’s Day as well. 

Spring Break

Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are well known for their beautiful scenery and boundless attractions. Spring Break is an exceptional time to visit the Great Smoky Mountains. As the temperatures rise, the Smokies awaken from their winter slumber and showcase beautiful flowers, lush green forests and abundant wildlife for guests to see, enjoy and experience. We highly recommend reserving your Spring Break cabin by mid-February. By reserving your cabin by this time, you will have tremendous cabin options and the ability to pick the perfect cabin for you and your family. 

Memorial Day Weekend

As the unofficial kick-off to Summer, Memorial Day Weekend is such a fun time to be in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Many summer events and activities kick off during Memorial Day weekend and the weather is absolutely fabulous. To ensure you find the perfect cabin for your Memorial Day vacation, we recommend reserving your cabin no later than April 15 for the best selection and prices. 

Summer

Summer in the Smoky Mountains is truly a spectacular vacation for the entire family. From waterparks to waterfalls, there’s something new and exciting to experience in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Cabins fill up quickly for the Summer season and specials are often limited. If you’re searching for a cabin with a swimming pool, you had better plan on reserving early, these are typically the first to be rented. For the absolute best selection of cabins to choose from, we recommend that you reserve your June – September vacation by May 1. Wait any longer and your choices will be limited. 

Fourth of July

Parades, fireworks and live music performances celebrate the 4th of July in the Smokies. Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge both go above and beyond in celebrating Independence Day. Gatlinburg starts with the first parade in the nation at the stroke of midnight and Pigeon Forge puts on an all day festival headlined by some of the most inspiring music artists of all time. Both end the July 4th holiday with a fantastic fireworks display. To reserve a cabin for a July 4th vacation, you should plan on reserving no later than May 15. If you intend to reserve a cabin later than this date, you may have limited options and unable to find a cabin the fits your needs. 

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day Weekend is the perfect holiday to spend with family and friends. Gather everyone together at a luxurious Smoky Mountain cabin and enjoy countless amenities and features that the whole crew will enjoy. From swimming pools to riverfront lodges, we have the perfect cabin for Labor Day. When planning your cabin vacation for Labor Day, it’s best to reserve a cabin by the end of July. Labor Day Weekend is one of the last weekends of the year where families can gather together and reconnect. There’s no better place to enjoy an unforgettable vacation with family and friends than the Great Smoky Mountains. 

Fall

It is well known that the Great Smoky Mountains are well known for their brilliant fall display. The mountains come alive and showcase their stunning natural beauty with vibrant colors of reds, oranges and yellows. Fall is one of the busiest times to visit the Smoky Mountains and it’s no wonder why. There’s something special about seeing the Smokies in the Fall. When planning your fall cabin vacation, especially If you’re looking for a cabin with a mountain view, you should plan on making cabin reservation no later than August 15. Fall weekends will be the first to fill up, especially around October 15. Fall colors begin to display in the Smoky Mountains around late September with their peak viewing time being between October 15 and November 15, depending on weather. 

Thanksgiving

A Smoky Mountain cabin is the perfect place to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. Centrally located in the eastern United States, the Smokies are within a day’s drive of over half of the U.S. population, making it a prime spot to meet everyone for the holiday. Gather your family in a beautiful log cabin rental in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge and enjoy fantastic amenities such as game rooms with pool tables, movie theaters, hot tubs, mountain views and more. Large cabins, especially 3 bedroom cabins and larger, will be booked rather early, so it’s best to reserve your Thanksgiving cabin rental by October 15 - or sooner if possible - if you’ll need a large cabin for your entire family. 

Christmas

The magical lights of Winterfest welcome you to the Smoky Mountains each and every Christmas holiday. With millions and millions of twinkling holiday lights and whimsical displays throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, the Smokies are the perfect place to get into the holiday spirit and truly embrace the meaning of the season. Winterfest kicks off early November and lasts thru mid-February. If you’re planning a visit to the mountain for Christmas, we recommend reserving your cabin by November 15. With so many events planned during Winterfest, there’s so much to see, do and enjoy for holidays. 

New Year’s Eve

10, 9, 8, 7…. Let the countdown begin! Two of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in the South happen in the Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg shuts down it’s city streets to welcome the New Year with fabulous ball drop from the 400’ tall Space Needle, followed by fireworks. With an anticipated crowd of over 60,000 people it’s an electric environment and event that should be on everyone’s bucket list. At The Island in Pigeon Forge, guests are treated to a live music performance and ball drop, capped by an amazing fireworks display at the stroke of midnight. If you’re planning to spend New Year’s in a Smoky Mountain cabin to enjoy these fabulous events, we recommend reserving your cabin by November 15. Wait any longer to reserve your New Year’s cabin and you may be out of luck. Most lodging including cabins and hotels will be at full capacity for these special events.
