Directions to Spruce Flat Falls Trailhead: From the Sugarlands Visitor Center, drive west on Little River Road for 17.6 miles to the intersections of Laurel Creek Road and TN 73, also know as the Townsend Wye. Bear left on Laurel Creek Road towards Tremont and Cades Cove. In .2 miles, turn left toward the Great Smoky Mountain Tremont Institute. Follow 2 miles and turn left crossing the Middle Prong. Park at the Institute parking area, and the trail entrance will be on the right.

The hike to Spruce Flat Falls is a moderate hike of about 1.5 to 2 miles round trip. The hike generally takes about 2 hours to complete and is the perfect stop off on your way to Cades Cove.

Spruce Flat Falls features a 25-30’ waterfall with a mountain stream running below. It is one of less known falls in the park, but still provides you with beautiful scenery of the river, flowering plants, the waterfall, and wildlife.
