The Island Flying Attraction

New Flying Attraction at The IslandThe Island in Pigeon Forge is bringing a new, $20M flying attraction to the popular destination in the Smoky Mountains.

Developers recently announced that they have partnered with Dynamic Attractions, a leading builder that pioneered the flying theater with rides in Disney’s Epcot in Florida and Seattle, Washington.

The one-of-a-kind immersive entertainment experience will be a “flying theater” that combines a ride and theater all into one. The attraction's film takes about 12 months to produce and takes riders on a magical journey to some of the most scenic and beautiful wonders in the country. Additionally, riders will experience scents and mist that coincide with the film's destinations.

The Flying Attraction will be located near The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and The Island Fountain Show and will not replace any current buildings at The Island, but will be a brand new structure.

Construction of The Island Flying Attraction is set to begin soon with an opening date early in 2020. Once complete, The Flying Attraction will be between 9,000 and 10,000 square feet.

The Island in Pigeon Forge was recently honored as the 6th best amusement park in America by TripAdvisor.
