6 Can't Miss Shopping Destinations in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg

What makes a shop a "can't miss" destination? Look for unique, locally made products and a friendly shopping experience. These six Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge locations show off the best shopping the Smokies have to offer!

1. Old Mill Square

Old-fashioned shops surround this still-working 1830 grist mill. Buy freshly ground cornmeal right here, plus gifts, toys, and more, at the Old Mill General Store. Old Mill Farmhouse Kitchen sells bread mixes, soups, sauces, jams, and kitchenware. Pigeon River Pottery's artists craft authentic Smokies pottery in front of you. Browse women's clothing at Sassafras. Take home moonshine, bourbon, and other tempting libations from Old Forge Distillery.

2. Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community

Drive the eight-mile loop road at your own pace and stop at any 100 workshops to watch artisans working on woodcrafts, fabric arts, basketry, jewelry, pottery, painting, and other traditional and modern skills. When you buy a gift from these artisans, it's genuinely one of a kind.

3. The Village Shoppes

Discover this charming European village setting with 27 shops! You'll find everything from a pajama shop to a cheese merchant, jewelry to hiking gear, and fine art to olive oils. Stop for a treat from The Donut Friar or ice cream at Maddi Mae's.

4. The Island in Pigeon Forge

Why just shop when you could, ride a Ferris wheel, or try an escape room game? The Island is a one-stop destination for shopping, eating, and playing. Forty retailers offer goodies galore–hand-blown glass, monogrammed clothing, puzzles, sports-themed souvenirs, toys and games, patriotic decor, and more.

5. Stages West

Saddle up and trot over to Stages West, a western wear shop for the whole family. Pigeon Forge might not be the Wild West, but you wouldn't know that from all the hats, boots, belts, and acres of leather and denim here! Shop for silver jewelry, western-themed home decor, and pint-sized cowpoke gear for kids.

6. Tower Shops at The Mountain Mile

Pigeon Forge's Mountain Mile is one of the newest attractions in the region, with thrill rides, restaurants, and the Tower Shops. Name brands, including the Nike Clearance Store, REI, and Rack Room Shoes, are featured here. Specialty shops offer everything from hot sauces to kids' wear.
