Rise, shine and head out for the most important meal of the day! Hunt down a bountiful breakfast at one of these three Gatlinburg morning favorites.
You can’t miss Crockett’s--look for the wooden statue of frontiersman “Crockett” Maples in front of this rustic stone-built restaurant. Like real-life Crockett and his wife, the owners of Crockett’s Breakfast Camp serve travelers hearty breakfasts to fuel their Smoky Mountain adventures.
Choose your toppings for fluffy griddle cakes, or try pancakes with cinnamon roll glaze swirled into the batter. Come hungry if you want French toast--it’s cut extra thick. Pick meats, cheeses and eggs to build your own sandwich on a tender biscuit. All the egg dishes, omelets, meats and sides are here, plus luscious cinnamon rolls. With this breakfast bounty, Crockett’s is popular, but you can join the online waitlist so you’re sure to get a table.
For 45 years, locals and visitors have started their days at Log Cabin Pancake House. This family-owned institution has fed generations on hearty breakfasts (and lunches). The Log Cabin doesn’t have a waitlist, but don’t worry. The line moves quickly here. Grab a rocking chair on the porch while you wait!
Expect classic pancakes from buttermilk to chocolate chip, but don’t miss specialties like Caribbean pancakes with coconut and bananas; butterscotch chip pancakes; or old-fashioned cornmeal pancakes. You can add chocolate chips, blueberries or nuts to any pancakes you order. The menu doesn’t stop at pancakes. Try tender, hot crepes with fruit fillings, or French toast, waffles, omelets, biscuits with fixings like gravy, ham or chicken, and of course eggs any way you like.
All-day brunch is Ruby Sunshine’s claim to delicious fame. With its roots in New Orleans, Ruby Sunshine naturally serves delicious beignets and dishes like shrimp and grits. What you might not expect are nine kinds of eggs Benedict, or amazing pancakes like Ruby’s white chocolate bread pudding pancakes or bacon praline pancakes!
Ruby also dishes up eggs and omelets, breakfast sandwiches, brioche French toast, breakfast tacos and meats like pork, chorizo or chicken sausage and applewood-smoked bacon. Need an eye-opener? Order a specialty cocktail or unique coffee drink. Ruby doesn’t take reservations, but she’s got a waitlist you can join online.
