So, if you're looking for a FREE activity for your children, you must take them to Wilderness Wildlife Week! From May 18th - 22nd at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, TN. Colonial Properties got to go today and see all the fun that was going on and we recommend taking the kids before it's too late! w16Today, we got up close to wildlife! Check out the bald eagle at the American Eagle Foundation! Located in the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, the American Eagle Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the majestic Bald Eagle (and other birds of prey). On their website, check out the live nest cam! At Wilderness Wildlife Week, they talk about the eagles, have merchandise that benefits the eagles, and you can learn all of the ways you can help these amazing birds! w12The Great Smoky Mountains Association was set up, too. Want stuffed bears, books on local wildflowers and trees and other GSMNP goodies? Go see their booth! They have a lot to offer! Today, we got to watch the animals Zoo Knoxville brought in! It was educational and exciting! Afterwards, we got to pet a gecko, a snake, lizard, ferret and hedgehog! It was such an exciting time with the animals from the Knoxville Zoo!!   w8We thought the ferret named Henry was pretty feisty! He probably wanted to run through the enter Hall - which is full of so many wonderful businesses and artists from our area! There was so much to see and do with classes and presentations going on everywhere! Check it out and don't miss out on all that you CAN STILL DO!!   ~Colonial Properties Cabin & Resort Rentals
