The Peddler Steakhouse

The Peddler Steakhouse, located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is the go-to destination to enjoy delicious food in a historic and cozy environment.

The History of The Peddler

Perched on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, this restaurant is located in the former home of a Gatlinburg merchant named Charles Ogle, Sr and his wife, Beth. It was built in 1958 and when you visit today you will find that the building retains its historic charm but offers modern comfort. The location is stunning as well - one of the highlights of the dining experience is the view. Many of the tables are situated next to the windows and allow you to experience the sights and sounds of the Little Pigeon River while you eat. While you can’t make a reservation, you can call ahead the day of your visit and ask if you can have a table next to the window.

The Peddler Menu

The menu consists of high-quality and fresh ingredients, including meat that is carefully prepared and never frozen. The Peddler Steakhouse naturally specializes in steak, but you can also savor some of the fresh seafood-based dishes. The fresh rainbow trout, grilled shrimp, or oysters appetizer are all great options. You can also try some of the flavorful salads or the mouth-wateringly delicious sides such as sauteed caramelized onions, baked stuffed potatoes, and the crisp onion rings.

Pair your meal with a glass of wine from the Peddler’s extensive wine line. Whether you are looking for reds, whites, or sparkling wines, you’ll be able to find something that suits your taste and pairs well with whatever you’re eating. If you’re particular about what kind of wine you drink, you can bring your own bottle and pay the small $10 corkage fee. There is also a selection of beer and a cocktail menu. The Ole Smoky Old Fashioned is a delicious blend of Ole Smoky Whiskey, bitters, simple syrup, muddled orange and cherry. If you’d prefer a sweeter option, the Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini is a tangy fusion of Grey Goose Vodka, raspberry liqueur, triple sec, lemon juice, and simple syrup.

Peddler Desserts

You can finish your meal with one of the delicious and freshly made desserts at The Peddler Restaurant. The Hot Blackberry Cobbler is served with vanilla ice cream and the warm berry blend contrasted with the cool bite of the ice cream is a refreshing and satisfying sensation. If you’re looking for a more unique option, try the Kahlua Creme Brulee. It’s topped with a caramel crust and has a rich and sweet flavor but is not overwhelming.

Service at The Peddler

Not only is the food served here exceptional, but the service you’ll receive here goes above and beyond as well. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive, always striving to ensure that your experience is as good as it can be. They’ll happily share some of their menu recommendations with you or answer other questions you might have.
