The Cherokee Grill is a local favorite for romantic dinners, special events or just a well-earned treat any time. This upscale restaurant makes a perfect addition to a Gatlinburg vacation. Here’s what to expect.

An Elegant Mountain Lodge

As you walk in, you’ll feel as if you’re entering an elegant mountain lodge. The big, central fireplace casts a soothing glow. Rich granite and walnut make the interior warm and inviting. Watch the chefs at work in the open kitchen or get a drink at the oversized bar.

A Regionally Inspired Menu

You’ll find flavors from the Smokies and the rest of the South here. The grill is famed for luscious, tender steaks, too.

Dinner appetizers feature crab bisque, crab cakes and charbroiled shrimp. Salads get star treatment, topped with grilled steak or chicken, seafood or Asian steak with Kung Pao sauce.

Burgers and sandwiches range from plain burgers to a prime rib sandwich. Entrees like Southern fried catfish and Smoky Mountain fried chicken are nods to Gatlinburg’s heritage. Sides include blue cheese grits and baked macaroni and spinach with spicy cheese. Pork chops and chicken, salmon and trout entrees round out the dinner offerings.

Steaks take center stage with classic cuts including sirloin, strip, ribeye and filet mignon. Taste filet stuffed with Boursin cheese or sirloin marinated in teriyaki sauce. Leave room for cheesecake, fruit cobbler or brownie a la mode!

Sunday Brunch

Sundays from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., enjoy the Cherokee Grill’s entrees, a smaller menu of starters and steaks, plus breakfast favorites. Try a Belgian waffle with blueberry, strawberry or pecan topping. Order that Southern staple, fried chicken and waffles, or try one of the four kinds of omelets. Eggs Benedict gets a tasty makeover as sausage Benedict or crab cakes Benedict. The house specialty is eggs Cherokee Grill, with grilled beef tenderloin.

Microbrews and Fine Wines

Microbrews come from Smoky Mountain Brewery’s four breweries in East Tennessee. These handcrafted brews include seasonal ales and lagers plus English brown ale, light American-style lager, fruity amber ale and more. The extensive wine list offers more than 70 reds and whites.

Enjoy a drink with your meal, or come for happy hour Mondays through Thursdays from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
